Why Foster a child?

Fostering can be challenging, but is also a very rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to a child or young person who has experienced difficulties in his/her life. At By the Bridge, Fostering is a career with professional Therapeutic training, Fostering allowances and expenses and opportunities for career progression. Many of the Foster Parents working with us tell us that their decision to Foster with By the Bridge was the best one they ever made.

People who Foster are ordinary people with strength of character who have room in their lives and their home for a child (or children) who desperately need a new start. Children and young people will always remember and value the best care they receive. This makes Fostering one of the most rewarding jobs you can do; your care can literally make generations of difference, breaking cycles of neglect, abuse and deprivation.

If you want to become a Foster Parent, you will need to be certain that you Foster with a genuine agency that will invest in you and developing your skills; and be there to support you, whenever you need assistance, whatever time of the day or night!

At By the Bridge we work in close partnership with our Foster Parents and we afford them the professional respect, excellent allowances and ongoing Therapeutic training that they deserve. We believe that this will ensure that our Foster Parents can care for each child as an individual and in the very best way possible.
