Events & Activities

We hold a number of events throughout the year in branch for our children and young people to encourage them to participate in both fun and educational activities.

The events are organised by our Education Advisors (EAGALS) and Branch Coordinators and range from arts and craft workshops to mobile farm days. We’ve also held movie days, country park visits and seasonal events such as Easter Egg Hunts, Halloween Trails and Christmas Pantomimes which have allowed the children to get to know each other and socialise on a more personal level.

The events bring everyone from our children and young people to foster parents and By the Bridge staff together for the day in a relaxed and casual environment where they can check in on each other,  get to know one another more and build positive, trusting relationships.

Branches also hold regular Youth Forums where our young people can discuss whatever they want with our Education Advisors in an open and safe space whether it be personal, educational or even suggest any ideas they might have to help promote better outcomes for them.

We get such great feedback from our children and young people regarding the events with Foster Parents also noting how much of a positive difference they can make to their day. Some events are even put in place for birth children to offer them individual attention and give them an opportunity to voice their views and opinions and make sure they feel heard and included.
