'Going off the Rails' deliver specialised training

20.04.2016

Colleagues from 'By the Bridge with Cambian' attended a one day training course from Johnny Hunt who works at ‘Going off the Rails.’

Johnny Hunt is a nationally respected consultant on relationships and sexual health training for young people. He has previously been involved in projects such as the documentary aired on Channel 4: "Talking to older children about sex and pornography." He also delivers conferences across the country aimed at professionals and young people.

Abbee McLatchie, Education, Participation and Achievements Manager said:

“The training was brilliant; everyone that took part got a lot out of the day. It raised consciousness and awareness, as well as upskilling the team. The training was for our Education Advisors and social workers.

“Johnny covered a wide range of topics such as the law, child sexual exploitation, confidence in tackling these subjects with young people, ideas for techniques, activities and approaches, and an exploration of value and culture. The day also gave us the space for discussing some of the challenges faced by young people today, with social media and digital technology presenting risks like sexting and access to images/pornography.”
