Getting Ready to Return to School

As the summer holiday is drawing to a close, thoughts are turning to the return to school.

We caught up with By the Bridge Education Manager, Caroline Hallett, who told us: “Some of our children have not been to school since March and may have some concerns about attending. Others will have been at school as normal during the lockdown, or will have returned for a few weeks in June or July. Children have told us they are most looking forward to being with their friends again, but naturally some have some worries”.

Our children have continual support from their foster families and our dedicated team at By the Bridge. Additionally, here are a couple of websites we would recommend for information to help with your young person's transition back to school.

ChildLine’s resources:

New guide produced by the Children’s Commissioner: https://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/report/going-back-to-school-guide/

We hope you find them useful. With that being said, it's time to get those uniforms ready, pencil cases filled and collectively look forward to a fresh new start to the 2020/21 academic year.

Wishing the best of luck to all our children and young people at By the Bridge.
