16-year-old Jack* was first on the scene when his best friend was involved in a terrible bike to car accident last year.

The brave youngster, who is currently being looked after by one of our foster families in Norfolk, acted fast on his feet and called for the appropriate help which thankfully saved the life of his friend.

Since then, Jack has set up a Go Fund Me** page to raise money for his friend and has raised an amazing £1,700 to help support his recovery.

It has been noted that he has been an exceptional and consistent emotional support for his friend who suffered extensive injuries and is undergoing intense sessions of physiotherapy.

By the Bridge Education Advisor, Rachel, said: “I am really blown away by the tenacity Jack has shown in raising money but also the sheer level of support he has and will continue to offer his friend that I believe this should be celebrated.”

By the Bridge has rewarded Jack for his amazing courage and achievement and are also in the process of applying for CareTech’s fund matching scheme to further his fundraising efforts.

Once again, we would like to say a huge well done to Jack and wish his friend a speedy recovery.
