15 year old, Ashley, from our Midlands fostering region has run over 125 miles to raise money for Children In Need.

Our amazing young person, who has Special Educational Needs, took it upon himself to run over 100 miles in just 6 weeks, finishing on the day that Children in Need aired to raise money for the children’s charity.

So far, Ashely has raised just shy of £700 and with the help of Caretech’s match funding scheme, we’re hoping to add even more to that total.

Ashley said: “I was not very fit and on my first run of just over three miles, I had to stop a few times but now, I am running 6, 7, or 8 miles without stopping. My stimulation when I run is that for each mile I complete, I raise more money for the children that need it.”

He has even been featured on local news and the BBC.

West Midlands fostering Assistant Regional Manager, Joanne Greer said: “Ashley is an inspiration to all of us here at the Granary office, he has taken on a challenge and absolutely smashed through his target. He has shown what a truly determined, caring and passionate young person he is. The West Midlands branch are so proud of his fantastic achievement and think he is a real superstar. A HUGE WELL DONE from all of us at The Granary!”

Huge congratulations once again to Ashley, an inspirational young person who By the Bridge couldn’t be more proud of!
