Become a Foster Parent with By the Bridge

Foster Pay and Allowances

By the Bridge Foster Parents are treated as professionals and it is important that they are given financial payments that cover the costs of caring for children or young people on a day-to-day basis as well as a professional fee for their work.

This will enable you to commit to Foster Parenting as a full-time career whilst working from your own home.

Foster Parent Pay

Foster Parent's pay varies according to the type of fostering you do and with considerations like the age of the child and their individual needs. The older the child or young person the higher the fostering professional fee and pay.

With By the Bridge you’ll receive a great weekly pay, on average £450 per week per child. This is made up of a professional fee and maintenance for the day to day care of a child.

Typically a Foster Parent could earn £23,400* a year, tax free, fostering one child (that's the equivalent of a £29,440* taxed salary).

Foster Parent Allowances

We also provide generous allowances to help towards all the added costs of looking after children: travel, clothing, equipment, festive gifts and extra to enable you to take foster children on holidays with you. These are extra allowances that many other fostering associations do not provide.

We also offer the opportunity of higher pay grades with promotion.

*Based on a child in place for 52 weeks in the 2018/19 tax year

Fostering Offices

 Testimonial Image

Our local offices and countryside locations are carefully chosen and decorated with bright colours, pictures and plants. So everyone experiences a sense of care, value and ‘a homely’ feel when they come to work or visit. We aim to create an environment where people feel valued and can grow, develop and achieve their goals.
