24/7 Support for our Foster Parents

By the Bridge offers a range of fantastic training, support and benefits to ensure you have everything you need to provide the best possible outcomes for our children. With 24/7 Out of Hours support, 365 days a year, you can feel comfortable phoning us whenever you need to, knowing we'll always be there to offer the appropriate guidance and support.

In addition to our dedicated Out of Hours support, all our Foster Parents receive:

  • A Dedicated Supervising Social Worker (with a protected caseload so you get the attention and support that you deserve)
  • 21 nights paid Respite per year (annual leave)
  • Regular Supervision groups - local support network
  • Careful matching by our in-house experienced Referrals team
  • Consultation with in-house Psychotherapists as needed
  • A team of in-house Education Advisors (EAGALS)
  • Long service rewards
  • Refer a Friend to Foster Scheme - earn up to £2,000 each time you recommend a friend who becomes a By the Bridge Foster Parent

Ongoing Therapeutic Training 

Our Foster Parents are highly valued and respected by the whole team.As professionals our Foster Parents are entitled to the best support as well as ongoing training to ensure personal development and career progression. 

 

Our unique 20 day Therapeutic Thinking Training program has been developed and is delivered by experienced, professional psychotherapists with many years of experience working in Therapeutic Fostering.

 

Our training is designed to gradually advance and enrich your therapeutic understanding, skill and knowledge – embedding your knowledge as you gain more Fostering experience. You will quickly have the opportunity to learn about theories and subjects to support your understanding of the complex needs of our children and young people – and put it into practice. You don't need any previous training or formal qualifications to Foster, we will teach you everything that you need to know.
