Become a Foster Parent

How we support our Foster Parents

We’re there around the clock, day or night, so you can phone us whenever you need to speak to us, 24/7, 365 days a year for anything you want to talk about.

We organise lots of activities throughout the year for families, foster children and birth children all to take part in. This is to provide positive experiences for foster children living within a family.

We encourage our Foster Parents to meet regularly to build friendships, share experiences and support each other.

We also provide up to 21 nights paid respite per year. Respite is the opportunity to take regular paid breaks where other foster parents look after your foster child. We understand that Foster Parents need to recharge their batteries, so provide the opportunity for you to do exactly that.

We pride ourselves on offering an outstanding level of support to families - so that we can support you and let you focus on the young person in your care.

If By the Bridge seems like the type of organisation you would like to foster with then Contact Us for more information to begin your fostering journey.

Fostering Offices

 Testimonial Image

Our local offices and countryside locations are carefully chosen and decorated with bright colours, pictures and plants. So everyone experiences a sense of care, value and ‘a homely’ feel when they come to work or visit. We aim to create an environment where people feel valued and can grow, develop and achieve their goals.

Did you Know?

The government has generous tax allowances in place for those who foster and this means that you will pay little or no tax, depending on how many children you care for. Typically a new foster parent could earn £22,157* a year, tax-free, fostering one child (that's the equivalent of a £27,923* taxed salary)
