This is an exciting opportunity to work with By the Bridge with Cambian; an independent and leading fostering organisation with a unique therapeutic approach, providing high quality foster care for children of all ages and abilities.
An opportunity has arisen to join our team and lead on the development of our Education, Achievement and Participation strategy. The aim of this role is to maximise opportunities for children and young people by ensuring access to a suitable education provision and enabling positive outcomes to be achieved. In addition, you will be the lead for children’s participation within the organisation and oversee our Get a Lifestyle programme for children. You will manage our team of Education Advisors who are based at our regional offices, therefore regular travel to our regions will be required. A company car or car allowance will be provided.
You will ideally be located in Kent, based from our Sittingbourne office, with regular travel to our regional offices, however flexibility with location may be considered for the right candidate. You will be passionate about improving the educational outcomes and other opportunities for children and young people and have high expectations for them; with the drive and determination to help them gain success and achieve their aspirations.
Knowledge of the education system, including the ability to analyse and produce reports regarding academic achievements, legislation, funding, admissions and alternative education provisions is essential for this role. Ideally you will have experience of working with Looked after Children in relation to education, although this is not essential. The ability to identify and work with partner organisations to deliver exciting opportunities, outside of education for children and young people would also be advantageous.
You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent relevant experience. Your IT skills will be of a good standard, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook, as part of the role requires collation of statistics, drafting reports, managing budgets and evidencing outcomes. You will be a confident, engaging and approachable individual with excellent communication skills and motivated to succeed.
We offer a salary of £35,000 - £42,000 per annum dependent on experience, the option of a company car OR car allowance, a discretionary annual bonus, private healthcare, pension, life insurance, generous annual leave, and a great working environment.
