Q Will I have my own bedroom?
A Yes, every child and young person fostered in By the Bridge has their own room. Sometimes, if everyone agrees, brothers or sisters can share a room.
Q Do By the Bridge foster families have pets?
A Yes, many of our families have pets, mainly dogs, cats, birds and fish, but there are also some families who don't have any pets.
Q Are there other children with By the Bridge families?
A Most By the Bridge families have their own children or other foster children. Sometimes young people need to be in a family where there aren't any other children, we have these families too.
Q Do children and young people with By the Bridge go on holiday?
A Yes, all children with By the Bridge go on at least one holiday each year. Most families take their children to another country, sometimes even as far away as America. By the Bridge has a children's holiday every year as well, young people spend a week away from their foster families taking part in activities such as sailing, canoeing, abseiling, climbing, archery, arts and crafts. Children's own social workers must give permission for holidays and activities.
Q Do children with By the Bridge get to meet each other?
A Yes, aswell as meeting on the activity holiday, we have a Christmas celebration for everyone and a special get-together in the summer.
